Want some very academic reasons why this activity is so important? Here goes: Inferential reasoning enables students to construct new knowledge by considering, connecting past knowledge to new. If we want to delve into the biology of the skill, you might be interested to know that the dynamic activates the hippocampus, which is the part of the brain responsible for retaining short-term, long-term and spatial memory. So, the more we give students the opportunity to develop this part of the brain, the more we are aiding them in strengthening neuron connections.
In other words – this activity can be included in almost all f your lessons as a springboard to everything else. Get into the habit of using this dynamic and you’ll see how much more confidence your young learners have in completing their tasks. Let me know how it works for you!!!

The art of ordering – it IS an art. Sequencing is taught deliberately in Pre-School and then we usually forget about it. Yet it is one of the most important skills for our young learners. If we give them opportunities to strengthen sequencing, most of the other concepts and dynamics come more easily to them – deciding on topics, choosing most important concepts, finding words more easily filed away in their minds, and so much more. This activity uses images and the specific phrases we need to visualise sequences in our mind and express them with our mouths. Too important to miss!
