How does Donna manage to present so many new ideas to teachers who seem stuck in their ways, and still leave them smiling and more open-minded than when they sat down!
Pilar Gómez, Castellón, Spain

She has a smile that lights up the room. The energy we felt changed completely as we jumped with her from one activity to another, experiencing ourselves how exciting they are. We saw that she designed all the activities so that our students would truly benefit from them.
Bogotá, Colombia

We signed up for the conference, thinking we’d go home with one or two new ideas. Instead, we went home with a whole structure to plan our curriculum. We couldn’t believe the way Donna presented all the information so actively, involving us in every step. And she’s so direct and personable. We felt as though she was speaking to each. one of us individually.

Thank you for such a wonderful workshop on Mini-Lessons and scaffolding. Those scaffolding techniques work well in so many different situations. I’m already seeing how my students react more positively when we begin new units because they understand much more.

Miki Triana, Parma, Italy

Thank you, Donna, so much for your encouragement. we are very lucky to be able to count on you at our school. You come into the classroom, evaluate how we are doing and always support us emotionally, pushing us ahead gently, with a clear vision of where we know we want to be and how we want our learning environment to look.

You always show such respect for where we are and you always seem to bring out the best in us. We have learned so much from from the PhBL projects we designed with you and the students have responded so well to the change in dynamics. They are learning so much responsibility and agency for their own learning – more than we every expected. Thank you. for everything.

…Thanks to Donna Fields’ seminar on Phenomenon-Based Learning, I decided this year to dare to work on the usual language curriculum through projects…….

…I’m so grateful to Donna for sharing her expertise with me and my colleagues and to inspire me to try project with sparkles!!!

Laurel Gilly, NYC, U.S.

My conclusions are very positive with the use of the Mini-Lessons. From the very first moment using scaffolding techniques, despite my students’ low language level and the fact that we were beginning a new unit, all of them participated enthusiastically and – this was the first time they worked in groups, so i am even more satisfied with the results. Now I’m thinking of trying out a PhBL project with a lot of Mini-Lessons to introduce new information. Thank you, Donna, for believing I could do this!
