Scaffolding by Enriching the Sequencing Dynamic (Pre-Schoo/Lower Primary)

$5.00

What’s the next video you’re going to watch with your little ones? What the next big book? The next song? ANY of these are the perfect opportunity to introduce this fantastic sequencing dynamic. You will model the words your students need to justify choices they make in ordering stories – and there are no correct ways – only ways that make sense if they explain them appropriately.  Too much fun – you’ll see with these simple steps.

Sequencing can be one of the most dynamic skill builders we can plan for our young learners. It’s also one of the most essential. Knowing the sequence of events in a story (in a book or in a video) is an important skill for our students – in any language. In their first years of schooling, we need to specifically give them the opportunities to be able to recognise and express this order, and the phrases to use to clarify sequences, so that the dynamic comes naturally to them later on in life. Using colourful, animated images is so much fun, you’re going to want to include this activity in your lessons weekly!
