$5.00

A fantastically interactive game that puts a spin on the memorisation dynamic. Use information from the unit you’re about to begin to create a card game for pairs or groups of students. They will need to use inferencing, critical thinking, discerning skills and so much more. It’s an activity you can reuse when you’re students need a quick change and you want to then review information from the unit.

There is growing recognition that creative uses of memorisation techniques are valuable in cognitive, behavioural, and neurological flexibility. These opportunities  allows adolescence to explore and adapt to their shifting inner and outer worlds. Giving them concrete tasks to structure their thinking will support this development.  This diamond game involves using clues to connect images with information and later dividing the information into categories. Students work collaboratively using verbal, tactile and visual skills to remember and deepen knowledge of new material. The shift from adolescence to adulthood is not linear, so any structure we can give to our neurologically maturing students, is a gift to them in strengthen organising skills for virtually every element of their lives. Scaffolding techniques like the Diamond Game both structure and extend learning in this regard.

..and you’re a brilliant educator!!
